| | This information was kindly provided by Ken Layton. It is an excerpt of various posts regarding the B&K 467 rejuvenator. This unit is an excellent addition to the serious game restoration tool kit; it can add years of life to faded dark or blurry picture tubes (CRTs). It will NOT however remove screen burn.
. KLayton888@aol.com Here are the MCM Electronics (www.mcminone.com) stock numbers for the various B&K socket adapters:
73-760 CRX-A CRT Universal Tester Adapter 73-200 CR-20 73-215 CR-23 73-345 CR-16 73-350 CR-18 73-355 CR-24 73-360 CR-7 73-500 CR-31 73-530 CR-37 73-540 CR-3 73-545 CR-15 73-550 CR17 73-555 CR-26 73-755 CR-34 73-756 CR-71 73-757 CR-6
73-300 497-022-0595 B&K Adapter guidebook (shows what tubes use what adapters). This is also available to download at www.ionpool.net
The above adapters are used with models 467, 470, 480, and 490 (but not the 490-B which uses completely different adapters).
The manufacturer, B & K Precision (www.bkprecision.com) still supports this piece of test equipment even though it was manufactured 30 years ago. If you send the unit back to the factory they will test/repair/recalibrate for you. A common failure is the "Push to remove shorts" pushbutton switch assembly in which the switch internal contacts wear out and shipping it back to the facture for repair is a good idea.
I have been told that the factory service department will manufacture whatever socket adapter (s) you need for any adapter number that has been discontinued but you must specifically tell them that. Adapter # CR-30 has been discontinued and as an example that's the one you need. Just tell the factory service department you want them to make a CR-30 for you. Cost is $50.
